Options dialog box
In the Options dialog box, you can reset all profiles to suit your needs and your intended use. The dialog consists of 7 tabs: General, File Types, Connection, Save To, Downloads, Proxy, Site logings, Dial-Up, Sounds.
General
General Tab can be used to select: Automatically start with Windows, integrating IDM into browsers such as IE, Opera, Mozilla, Netscape ...
IDM supports many custom integration with browsers. Customize the basic (Basic) allows users to integrate any type of tick used by browser-browser option and click the Details button. In integrated mode, you can add a browser by pressing the button "Add Browser ...". Then, the software will determine the version of the browser and integrated self.
Also, lets you choose the hot key combination to request / block IDM download files. Press the button and dialog Keys "Using special keys" appear. From this dialog box you can choose the appropriate hotkey for each browser. As for the Opera browser and OLD Mozilla-based, can be integrated using the plug-in. Integrated mode does not support hot keys to prevent / request IDM download files. If you want to block / file download request by hot keys, you should use the "Advanced browser integration".
file Types
Can be used to change the file format to be downloaded by IDM or by the browser.
You can prohibit downloading files from a specified number of websites before. To do this, simply add the site to the list of "do not start dowloading". For example, when adding * .tonec.com to the list, will not be downloaded from the site ftp.tonec.com, www.tonec.com, www.games.tonec.com ...
Connection
In the Connection tab, you must choose the speed of your Internet connection. This is necessary for optimum use of the transmission line. Avoid choosing "Max Connection Number" with value greater than 4. This value is too large may reduce transmission speeds and slows the server where you are downloading data. Moreover, it can also affect a number of security operations of a network administrator. On the other hand, increasing the number of connections can speed up the process of downloading files if you have a high speed connection.
If you want to specify the largest size that can leverage IDM on the line, you can choose custom IDM Download Limits. This custom is very useful for a number of standards such as Directway connection, Direct PC, Hughes ... For example, in case you just want to download at speeds up to 40MB or 150MB per hour for 4 hours continuously , then the load will not exceed the norms. This way you can take full advantage of the transmission line to download files that are larger.
Save To
In this tab you will choose the default directory corresponding to the downloaded file format. You can change this folder by right-clicking and selecting Properties in each category. IDM also features "Remember last save path" to automatically remember the address of the save file downloads before.
Temporary Directory defines the path where the files will be stored temporarily. You can change this directory as necessary, for example in the case of insufficient disk space.
Downloads
In this dialog box, you can effectively manage the dialog box will appear. Selecting "Do not show" Download Progress dialog box will lose this dialog. Other options such as miniature windows can use "Show minimized".
Mode silent mode when all the links you click on will be automatically saved to a default folder. If you do not wish to download complete dialog box, you can uncheck the box "Show start download dialog", "Do not show download complete dialog" and choose "Do not show" in the list box Download Progress.
proxy
Tab Proxy / Firewall is the place to help you configure the proxy. Selecting "Use FTP in PASV" means passive mode of the FTP protocol will be activated. You should turn on this option when a firewall or proxy server has been activated. At this point you can add personal information if the proxy server requires.
site Logins
Site Logins tab (only exists in versions of copyright) is used when you want to automatically declare the information on the sign-in required download server. Activate this feature by clicking the New button, add the URLs and information on Username / Password.
dial Up
If the dial-up connection is used, there will be further adjustment feature records in phone book for your connection. In this list, you have the option to use the same connection IDM. If your computer connects to the Internet, it will show this connection by default.
After selecting the connection, you can change the username and password information, and then saved by clicking the Apply button. If you want to automatically fill IDM password, you can tick the Save Password Check. In addition, you can configure the number of connections and the time between each time. Most amendment OK to save and Cancel to not save.
Sound
Can emit a different sound to notify the user. In the sound card, the user can choose the tone and the tone associated with each event separately.
Note: You can select the audio from the files available in the machine. To select the type of sound, you first select the type of event, click on the Browse button, find the audio files and audio tick attached to the corresponding event. You can hear the sound before using the Play button.
Finished loading dialog box (Download Complete)
When the download is finished, IDM will display dialog "Download Complete". From here, you can choose different ways to open the downloaded file.
For example, you can turn off display notifications when a file is downloaded completely by selecting "Do not show this dialog again". If you want to turn off this feature, you can go IDM tab> Options> Downloads.
